So I’ve modified the design as I’ve gone along – it’s now going to be a blanket of four quarters. I’ve already made up two quarters from the Rowan Biggy Print in Jewel that I had, I now need to find 10 more balls and less than the £60 I paid for the first 10! Otherwise it’s going to be one expensive blanket!
I’ll post the pattern on the patterns page when I finish it, but for now if you want to try it you will need:
20mm needles, 20 balls of Rowan biggy print – 5 per quarter
30 stitches per row, and knit garter stitch (that’s normal knitting to you and me) until you use up all 5 balls. Then join all 4 pieces together.
I have to say it’s the most gorgeous project I’ve ever worked on. From now on everything will be chunky knit on huge needles. The resulting fabric is hugley insulating and really really warm. It’s going to be great for those icy winter nights.
